Hi Hugh,  I am glad everything is now out in the open because now we can begin to repair any ill feelings between the clubs.  The weekend was really good and its such a shame that it had to end as it did.  We are very greatful to you for the players that you sent our way and also the smelly kits that yiou washed for us.  We now have a full year to build our bridges, best wishes to everyone in Longford.  Gail

Hi Folks,

Think i need to get accross our side of the mens final as i've been made out to not helpfull at all during the weekend. 1st i managed to get you 4 players. Damien Lee & Jarick both members of my club. Also Gavin and Janis from Mullingar, Gavin been the best point guard in the area league. We had a good game saturday Rebels played well and beat us fairly. They topped the group and as they had only 1 set of uniforms I offered to take them home wash and dry them. On the sunday the lads won their semi-final but neve came to me to ask about the final and the cahnce of reducing it. It was in the last quater of the ladies game we tried to sort some thing out. i said the we'd reduce it to 4 x 8 min quarters, this was equal to the original game. A number of players from my side said we should agree to 2 x 17 min halfs as it would have been bad not to have a final we argeed. We had a game plan to double team Barry as he was the teams danger man and was great all weekend. He was put to the line about 20 times in the game but missed a lot. I had a run in with him as i fouled him and he stuck out at me. The game settled down and both teams had the chance to win. Barry's ejection was due to him putting his forearm straight in to Rays face. It was a sad way to end a great weekend and not a final tha i am happy winning it ment nothing to me as it was soured. I am sorry that the teams have fallin out like this as i have (i felt) built a friendship with Gail & Karl. I diddnt get chance to chat either after as had lots to do in finishing the tournament. Problems after the game did not finish as i got a few messages reagarding guest players from clubs that played REBELS. I want the two clubs to get over this and would like to build or friendship. I look forward to chatting you all during the year and "HOPEFULL" next season.

I would like to say thank you to everyone. six months with all of you were by far the best experience to me. And unforgettable as well. I really don't know how to thank you. Just I'm gonna miss all of you. the last word I want to say is " Yeah keep going All stars!! "

Thanks guys for the 2 games. Kids team abit out of our league, men we will have you next time haha. All in all was a good experience and i think we need a return fixture for another good day of friendley basketball.
